The National Observatory for Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs and Baku Slavic University (BSU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on strengthening the labour market, enhancing human capital development, and improving the alignment between education and employment needs.
The agreement was signed by Elnur Safarli, Chairman of the National Observatory, and Anar Naghiyev, Rector of BSU.
During the signing ceremony, the two sides exchanged views on the current activities of their institutions and discussed ways to expand cooperation to better serve the labour market.
Safarli highlighted the National Observatory’s use of modern methods for labour market monitoring, skills assessment, and workforce forecasting. He emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships with higher education institutions to ensure that graduates are equipped with the skills employers need.
Rector Anar Naghiyev outlined BSU’s educational strategy, highlighting new and innovative approaches aimed at strengthening students’ professional readiness. He noted that the university is continuously updating its programs to reflect changing labour market conditions and to better equip graduates for future employment.
Naghiyev added that the newly established cooperation will open up significant opportunities for joint scientific research, practical initiatives, and enhanced support for students’ career development.
The MOU outlines several key areas of collaboration, including joint research projects, curriculum development, student training, and enhanced industry-university cooperation. The partners also aim to organize seminars and workshops designed to enhance students’ employability and prepare them for successful careers.
