A “Social Journalism” training session was held at the Training and Development Centre of the National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the National Press.
The session, attended by 20 journalists from leading media outlets, focused on the services provided by the DOST Agency. Participants received in‑depth briefings on the DOST Concept, the “Single Window” service model, digitalisation initiatives, service channels, the strategy for expanding the DOST network, and the “Könüllü DOST” programme.
Participants also received up‑to‑date information on the Agency’s portfolio of 161 distinct social services across 13 key areas, 92% of which are now available in digital format ensuring citizens faster, more transparent and more convenient access.
Attendees also examined practical case studies of DOST centre operations. Thereafter, journalists’ questions were answered and ways to strengthen information exchange in the social protection sphere were discussed.
Certificates were presented to the participants at the close of the training.
The “Social Journalism” programme aims to equip media professionals with comprehensive understanding of social protection issues, refine their professional reporting skills in this area, deepen their sector‑specific expertise and foster effective collaboration between the media and social protection stakeholders.
