The National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs, operating under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, celebrated its third anniversary with a special event at the DOST Centre for Inclusive Development and Creativity.
The event was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, representatives from higher education institutions, the Azerbaijan Türkiye Business Association (ATBA), as well as experts from various research centres.
In his address, Vusal Nasirli, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population, highlighted the significance of the National Observatory, which was established as a public legal entity under a decree by President Ilham Aliyev. He emphasized the Observatory's crucial role in advancing social reforms, particularly in terms of assessing the current state of the labour market and social protection, monitoring development trends, and providing data-driven projections for effective policymaking.
Nasirli also noted the Observatory’s role as a key training centre for the Ministry, helping to develop professional specialists through targeted training programs.
Elnur Safarli, Deputy Chairman of the National Observatory, spoke about the institution's progress in building a robust system for monitoring, analysing, and forecasting trends in labour, employment, and social protection. He shared insights into the Observatory’s ongoing research efforts and initiatives aimed at assessing employee performance and optimizing service quality. Safarli also highlighted the institution’s role in conducting market research, citizen satisfaction surveys, and employee satisfaction studies.
It was underlined that the Observatory aims to become a leading think tank in the region, driving innovation in labour and social protection policy through its analytical and research activities.
The event was also attended by notable guests, including Cemal Yaygin, Chairman of ATBA, and Elnur Eyvazov, a visually impaired professor.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt concert program featuring performances by students with disabilities from the music courses of the DOST Centre for Inclusive Development and Creativity.
