The National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs, operating under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, recently held a meeting with members of the Public Council under the Ministry.
Elnur Safarli, Chairman of the Board of the National Observatory, provided an overview of the Observatory's activities, highlighting key efforts in research and analysis. He also presented the findings of recent studies on demographics, the labour market, and the preparation of forecasts, as well as new projects being undertaken by the institution.
In addition, Safarli discussed the outcomes of surveys conducted by the Observatory, which focused on students’ preferences regarding fields of study in higher education and career choices among secondary school students. It was noted that the surveys had successfully identified the main factors influencing students’ decisions, along with the professional fields they tend to favour.
Elshad Mammadov, Chairman of the Public Council, along with other Council members, shared their feedback and suggestions. The meeting also provided a platform for a constructive exchange of ideas, with discussions centred on enhancing future collaboration between the two bodies.
