A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs and the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). The document was signed by Elnur Safarli, Chairman of the Board of the National Observatory, and Associate Professor Rufat Azizov, Rector of ASOIU.
In his remarks during the meeting, Elnur Safarli highlighted the Observatory’s key functions and strategic goals. He emphasised the importance of close collaboration with higher education institutions in strengthening the organisation’s institutional capacity.
Through this partnership, the two institutions will jointly conduct research, implement internship programmes, and develop education models tailored to the demands of the labour market. This approach contributes to improving the quality of education and expanding employment opportunities for young people.
Rector Rufat Azizov spoke about the university's academic opportunities, dual diploma programmes, and achievements in international rankings. He emphasised that, as one of the country’s leading higher education institutions, ASOIU attaches particular importance to training specialists in line with labour market demands. He also noted that ASOIU maintains active collaboration with hundreds of public and private sector organisations, enabling the university to identify skills gap and future potential across various fields.
Under the MoU, the parties will engage in joint initiatives with companies operating in the fields of engineering, technology, and industry to analyse recruitment criteria, labour market needs, and the gap between these demands and graduates’ competencies, and will formulate recommendations to bridge those gaps and improve alignment.
The cooperation also envisions the implementation of industry-integrated research activities and the organisation of technical and innovative training programmes.
