Shaig Kazimov was born in Lankaran in 1981.
In 2002, he graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology at Baku State University, where he majored in Political Science.
Between 2010 and 2015, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics and Management at Lankaran State University. In 2013–2014, he studied at Jagiellonian University in Poland under the Erasmus exchange program.
From 2016 to 2018, he completed a master’s degree in Economic-Mathematical Modelling at the Faculty of International Relations and Economics of Baku State University. He later pursued doctoral studies in Econometrics and Economic Statistics at the Centre for International Graduate and Doctoral Studies of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) from 2020 to 2024.
Mr Kazimov began his professional career at the Lankaran branch of Kapital Bank OJSC, where he worked in various positions between 2010 and 2014. From 2018 to 2022, he held positions at the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Between 2022 and 2025, he served as Head of the Monitoring Division of the Research Department on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs and subsequently as Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Observatory for Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.
In October 2025, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Observatory for Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs.
He is married and has three children.
