Top five most in-demand professions identified
The National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs, under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, has conducted a large-scale quantitative analysis of job postings to assess the current state of the labour market.
A total of 25,678 vacancies from the past two years were reviewed, and the following five priority professions emerged as the most in-demand:
The findings indicate that the growing demand for these roles is driven by the expansion of labour market and structural changes.
One in every four job announcements was related to enterprises operating in the wholesale and retail trade sector.
The banking sector also ranked among the top ten, leading with a 9.2% share of total vacancies. This sector stands out both for generating new jobs and for having a high rate of employee turnover.
The study also revealed that 76.2% of job advertisements required prior work experience, with the minimum experience typically ranging between 1 and 2 years. Additionally, 67.2% of positions required a university degree, predominantly at the bachelor's level.
As for salary details, only about 8,400 of the 25,678 job postings included salary information. The offered salaries in those listings ranged from 400 to 7,000 AZN.
