A meeting was held with the mission of the World Bank on the "Employment Support in Azerbaijan" project at the National Observatory on Labor Market and Social Protection Issues under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev noted the importance of the "Employment Support in Azerbaijan" project in expanding the self-employment program that allows vulnerable groups access to small business in our country.
The activity of the National Observatory on Labor Market and Social Protection Issues in important directions such as monitoring and analysis in the fields of labor, employment, social protection, and forecasting was mentioned. It was stated that joint work with the National Observatory was useful in the more advanced preparation of the household survey of the mission on the project.
Mirey Ovadiya, the World Bank's chief expert on social protection issues, and Sırma Demir Şeker, the chief economist, highly valued their cooperation experience with the Observatory. They noted that it may be important to continue cooperation in the field of survey and analysis in the future.
At the meeting, the issues of future cooperation between the National Observatory and the World Bank mission in the fields of survey, analysis and research, as well as opportunities for exchange of experience were discussed.
