A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the National Observatory for Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs, under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan, and Baku Business University. The agreement was signed by Elnur Safarli, Chairman of the Board of the National Observatory, and Professor Ibad Abbasov, Rector of Baku Business University.
The meeting focused on establishing effective links between higher education and the labour market, addressing the adaptation of graduates' professional skills to meet business world demands, and optimizing educational programs for strategic growth.
Safarli emphasized that research which reflects the evolving needs of the labour market is essential to aligning graduates' professional skills with modern workplace requirements. He highlighted that such research ensures the development of skills that meet current market demands and new methodological approaches are being developed in this area.
Abbasov pointed out that innovation in higher education, particularly through scientific research, plays a crucial role in the university’s strategic development. He stressed that the introduction of new teaching methods and emphasis on practical knowledge will better prepare graduates for successful careers in the labour market.
The MoU outlines a broad range of collaborative efforts, including assessing the adaptation of graduates to the labour market, conducting strategic analysis of professional fields, developing the necessary skills and competencies to meet market needs, carrying out joint research, and organizing scientific conferences and symposiums.
