The National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs, under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Baku Eurasia University to strengthen cooperation in areas crucial for shaping the future labour market.
During a meeting with Baku Eurasia University's management team, Elnur Safarli, Chairman of the Board of the National Observatory, highlighted the significance of collaboration with higher education institutions and research centres. He emphasized that such partnerships are vital in analysing employment trends, particularly evaluating how well university graduates align with labour market demands. Safarli noted that these studies help assess the integration of graduates into the workforce, ensuring their professional skills meet market requirements.
Simultaneously, the data gathered will help identify key professional sectors, enabling the development of more strategic approaches in the future. This process not only enhances graduates' competitiveness in the labour market but also facilitates a more precise analysis of employer needs, ensuring that higher education programs are optimized to meet these evolving demands.
Associate Professor Sayavush Gasimov, the rector of Baku Eurasia University, shared insights into the university’s strategic initiatives, emphasizing the institution’s efforts to build its scientific and academic capabilities. He outlined plans to implement new research programs designed to position the university as an innovative research centre.
The formalization of this cooperation was marked by the signing of the MoU by Safarli and Gasimov.
The document includes cooperation in areas such as forecasting the demand for emerging professions and specialities, identifying necessary skills and competencies, conducting joint research, and organising scientific and practical conferences, symposiums, and other events, all while taking into account the quantitative and qualitative parameters of the labour market and analysing the adaptation status of the Baku Eurasia University’s graduates to it.
