In a concluding session of their visit to Türkiye, the delegation from the National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs engaged in significant dialogues with the representatives of the International Labour Organization (ILO) office in Ankara, the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), and the Centre for Labour and Social Security Training and Research (ÇASGEM), an affiliate of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Türkiye.
Elnur Safarli, the Chairman of the Managing Board of the National Observatory, highlighted the fruitful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the host institutions in recent times. He underscored the pivotal role of joint programs and projects in driving reforms in Azerbaijan's labour and employment sectors, emphasizing the need for sustainable partnerships and enhanced collaboration among institutions.
In-depth presentations during the meetings shed light on the National Observatory's diverse activities, encompassing surveys, analysis, and forecasts concerning the labour market, employment, social protection, and demography. Additionally, forthcoming projects were outlined during the discussions.
During talks with Elif Gökçearslan, head of ÇASGEM, deliberations centred on the progress and implementation of the joint action plan signed between the institutions last year.
During the meetings, an agreement was reached to enhance cooperation aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of the National Observatory. The accord also includes provisions for conducting collaborative research and preparing reports on topics of mutual interest, as well as implementing joint projects in the social sphere. The agreement also entails efforts to collect relevant statistical data and bolster analytical capabilities.
