A delegation from the National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs, led by Chairman of Board Elnur Safarli, held a significant meeting at Nakhchivan State Technical College as part of its visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The meeting, attended by the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Nakhchivan, Acting Minister Farid Baghirzada, the Minister of Education Elkhan Najafov, and education workers, focused on strategies for the development of the region’s labour market.
Farid Baghirzada underscored the importance of working with the National Observatory to improve the labour market’s current state and emerging trends. He pointed out the Observatory’s regular analysis of graduates' employment status and its key proposals for supporting the development of the market.
Last year, the Observatory carried out statistical analyses and forecasts at the request of the Ministry of Education to assist in the development of a state-ordered admission plan for vocational education institutions and presented the results.
Minister Elkhan Najafov commended the Observatory’s analyses, emphasizing their crucial role in training personnel amidst the rapidly evolving labour market, technological advancements, and global challenges.
Elnur Safarli highlighted the importance of choosing the right profession for a smooth transition from education to the workforce. He pointed out that the vocational guidance of educational staff is crucial in addressing the future personnel needs of the labour market, and the support given to this process is of great importance.
The event concluded with a public hearing, where educational staff were presented with the results of the Observatory's analyses. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions on strategies to improve the labour market in the region.
