A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population and the Education Quality Assurance Agency (EQAA) under the Ministry of Science and Education. The agreement was formalized by Elnur Safarli, Chairman of the Board of the National Observatory, and Tural Ahmadov, Chairman of the Board of the EQAA.
During the signing ceremony, Elnur Safarli highlighted the National Observatory's ongoing efforts to analyse labour market trends, particularly focusing on employment indicators for graduates from higher and vocational education institutions. He emphasized the Observatory's work in collaboration with higher education institutions and research centres to strengthen the labour market's ability to match graduates with relevant employment opportunities.
Tural Ahmadov, in his address, detailed the EQAA's role in improving the quality of education across the country. He emphasized the agency's systematic approach to assessing students' knowledge and skills according to international standards, aiming to enhance the overall quality of both higher and secondary specialized education.
Under the terms of the new partnership, the National Observatory will analyse employment levels for individuals who have obtained professional qualifications through non-formal and informal education. They will also assess the role of professional qualification documents in the recruitment process.
Both parties will collaborate to better understand the demand for specific qualifications, skills, and competencies in the labour market, addressing key issues to improve the alignment of education with labour market needs. This cooperation is expected to foster more effective, coordinated strategies in both education and employment sectors.
