The next session of the "Social Journalism" training for media professionals was held at the Training and Development Centre of the National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs, under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.
Journalists from 15 media outlets participated in the session, which focused on "Services Provided in the Field of Adoption."
The training provided in-depth information on Azerbaijan’s "Foster Family" care model, which aims to prevent children deprived of parental care from being placed in orphanages. Participants were briefed on key aspects of the model, including eligibility criteria for foster parents, their rights and responsibilities, the social support available to them, and recent efforts made by the ministry to implement and expand the "Foster Family" program in Azerbaijan.
To assess the participants' understanding of the subject, a workshop followed the session, where journalists completed a test on the material covered.
The training concluded with the presentation of certificates to all participants. The "Social Journalism" training program aims to equip media professionals with essential knowledge on social protection issues, enhance their journalistic skills, and foster stronger collaboration between the media and governmental bodies in addressing social challenges.
