An online meeting took place between representatives from the Centre for Training of Social Protection Workers, part of Uzbekistan’s National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic, and officials from the National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
The meeting provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the National Observatory’s operations. As a national social observation body, the Observatory is responsible for analysing the labour market, identifying the demand for emerging professions and necessary skills, conducting surveys on informal employment, and addressing its causes and risks. Additionally, it serves as a training base for the Ministry, contributing to the development of professional specialists and the implementation of various training programs.
The meeting also highlighted the “DOST Inspector” project, a key initiative in Azerbaijan aimed at regulating labour relations within enterprises, enhancing corporate practices, and fostering a supportive business environment.
It was emphasized that the training services offered by the Observatory comply with international standards. During the meeting, attendees raised questions regarding employee assessment exams, the identification of training needs, personnel evaluation processes, workload analysis, and the application of competency model in the training system.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in labour market analysis, social protection, and professional development. Both sides expressed their intent to expand collaboration to address emerging challenges and foster mutual growth in these critical areas.
