A Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation was signed between the National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population and Baku State University.
The document was signed by Elnur Safarli, Chairperson of the Board of the National Observatory, and Elchin Babayev, Rector of Baku State University.
E. Safarlı explained that the National Observatory operates as a national centre for social observation in the fields of labour, employment and social protection. He said that special importance was given to cooperation with higher educational institutions and analytical research centres in strengthening the institutional capacity of the Observatory. Experience in the field of analysis and research is exchanged, students and graduates are involved in internship programs.
E. Babayev said that cooperation with the National Observatory will cover wide spectrums. He drew attention to the importance of the research carried out by the National Observatory in researching the social field. He said that it is important for higher education institutions to adapt students to the working environment and integrate them into the labour market through internship programs.
According to the agreement, the parties will cooperate in the field of mutual exchange of experience, preparation and implementation of joint projects and programs, and formation of students' knowledge and skills in relevant fields.
The parties will also conduct joint research and analysis in the fields of analyzing the situation of adaptation of graduates of Baku State University to the labour market, and will hold joint scientific-practical conferences, symposiums and other events.
The document also reflects forecasting the demand for priority professions and qualifications, necessary skills and competencies, taking into account the quantitative and qualitative parameters of the labour market.
