Directions for future cooperation in the field of analysis and research were discussed with representatives of the World Bank

The National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population hosted a meeting with the members of the World Bank mission on the ‘Support for employment in Azerbaijan’ project.

Hasil Abbasov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Observatory, gave information about the research topics the institution is currently carrying out. He said that regular analyses are carried out by the National Observatory to measure the level of employment in the labour market.

Members of the delegation emphasized the benefits of the research on ‘Analysis of Vacancy Announcements in Azerbaijan Labour Market’ conducted by the National Observatory. Mirey Ovadiya, Senior Social Protection Specialist, and Sirma Demir Sheker, Senior Economist, suggested expanding the scope of analysis of job postings in order to support the expansion of the self-employment program and increase its effectiveness.

Expanding cooperation opportunities between the parties and future perspectives were also discussed at the meeting.
